Exhibition Guidelines

Who attends the EWOFS 2010 Conference?

The EWOFS2010 programme is being prepared to attract a large number of delegates. Prestigious invited speakers will address state-of-the-art topics in Optical Fibre Sensing/Photonics and we expect attendees from universities, research organisations and industry.


Marketing Opportunity

While working on their various R&D projects, these delegates and their host institutions are the direct consumers of an enormous range of products and services.  The Conference brings together not only the decision makers but also the people who use the equipment, influence the decisions and are set to become the next generation of decision makers.

The EWOFS 2010 Conference and Exhibition provides the right environment for manufacturers and suppliers to renew old acquaintances and establish new personal contacts with key players within this important sector.


Technical Exhibition

The EWOFS 2010 technical Exhibition is an integral and valuable part of the Conference programme.  For the delegates and speakers it is an attraction in its own right, providing them with a collective shop window for the latest developments in instruments, products, equipment and consumables that they require in the course of their research.

The exhibition will be a valuable “hands-on” source of new and different products, information and suppliers. The EWOFS 2010 provides exhibitors with an unparalleled opportunity to meet these delegates face to face and to promote themselves and their products to the people within this market sector who have a direct responsibility for the specification of such equipment in their research applications.


Exhibition Location

The EWOFS 2010 Exhibition is being held in HOTEL SOLVERDE SPA & WELLNESS CENTER.  The conference rooms are near the Exhibition area (Algarve Room).  Location of the refreshment and lunch breaks will be arranged nearby the Exhibition Hall to enable Exhibition visits.  The breaks will be extended especially to facilitate visits.


Exhibition Timetable

Exhibition Spaces will be ready for exhibitors to set up pop up stands and/or banners in the afternoon of 7th September from 14.00 to 17.00.  All stands must be completed by 9:00 am on 8th September for the Exhibition Opening.

The Exhibition is open to Conference delegates and visitors from 9:00am to 6:00pm (on Wednesday 8th September and Thursday 9th September) and from 9h00 to 12h00 on Friday (10th September).


Any active equipment on the tables will be required to be safe and comply with the appropriate Health and Safety Standards.


Exhibition Package

The cost of the Exhibition Package is €1500 + VAT and consists of:

  • 3m(face) x 2m(depth) booth rental with table, chair and table cloth cover
  • One 10 amp type electric power point
  • Free internet access (wireless and cable)
  • Complimentary lunch and coffee vouchers for one person for 8, 9 and 10 September
  • Inclusion in Exhibition catalogue (included in the courtesy bags of the participants)
  • Exhibitor name badges


Additional lunch (3) and coffee (5) vouchers packages will cost 120 € per person.

The Exhibition area is divided into 15 exhibition booths, as depicted in the following plan.




  1. Complete all sections of the Booking Form indicating your choice of Exhibition booth (please note that space is allocated on a first come, first served basis).
  2. If you choose to use the pdf version of the booking form (accessible from the link below "Technical Exhibition"), please fill it and post, fax or email the original to: INESC Porto, Departamento de Física, Faculdade de Ciências, Rua do Campo Alegre 687, 4150-179 Porto, Portugal.   3. Your booking will be acknowledged via e-mail and you will be issued an invoice requiring payment within 30 days or prior to the exhibition starting, whichever is the sooner.
  4. An Exhibitor’s Pack in the form of a CD will be sent to you by the end of July 2010.
  5. Upon arrival at HOTEL SOLVERDE exhibitors will be given their name badge and will be shown to their exhibition booth.
